Hi. My name is Laura Clawson. In a world where beauty is one trend away from extinction, I want the moments I capture with my camera, with words to hold true- to mean something more than just pictures and words. More than just an image on a page or a screen.
I travel all through the year, shooting around the U.S. and internationally. I divide my time on the road between travel and mission photography, working with various ministries and organizations to provide images for publications, etc. and shooting destination weddings. My time at home in Minneapolis, MN is spent shooting portraits, hanging out with my family, reading poetry and attempting to play the cello.
I like photography because it gives vision when sight is not always an option.
I like photography because it captures more than just light, and motion and time. It captures art and emotion and feeling.
I like photography because because I get to use my eyes-the window to my soul- to look into someone else's eyes- the window to their soul.
Needless to say, I like photography. But its not the best. There is something I like more.
And that, my friends,
Is life.
Look, with all your eyes. Look.
